Grandmother’s Kitchen
My grandmother made the best blackberry cobbler! After I married my sweetheart, I wanted my grandmother to share all her recipes with me so I could cook all the delicious things for my husband. She didn’t have recipes written down, so I had to go watch her when she was making something I wanted to learn and write the recipes down. A pinch of this, a dash of that and voila! Like magic, everything she made was so deliciously perfect!
I’ve adapted her recipe to use the frozen Berry Medley from Aldi. Because I do most of my grocery shopping at Aldi, I have become addicted to this frozen Berry Medley. I don’t know how they do it, but the fruit is the sweetest. It’s perfectly ripe and so delicious without adding anything. Sometimes I just thaw some to have for dessert with a dollop of homemade whipped cream. More recently, I made grandmother’s old fashioned cobbler with the frozen berries and it was perfection!
