Sanctuary Ridge Adventures in Camping

Grove City Tour Part 1

The Green Knoll Farm on Butler Pike

Grove City, PA

After a long nine hour drive from Dale Hollow in Celina, TN, we arrived at the Mercer/Grove City KOA Holiday. Threatening rain clouds loomed overhead as we quickly tried to unhook and set up camp. Thankfully, Jim and Romni brought us dinner along with a warm welcome to western PA!

Why KOA?

There are no state parks/ county parks/ national parks with camping facilities within 45 minutes of Grove City, so we are staying at the KOA. Our campsite number was 96. I chose to reserve a larger site. If you are spending more time at the campground, I would suggest a deluxe patio site. Here is the link to the website: https://koa.com/campgrounds/mercer/

Mercer/Grove City KOA Holiday Campground Review

This seems to be a quick stop for most people. We stayed for 8 days but most people we saw were only here for a day or two. The park stayed full on the weekends. The staff here are very friendly! They keep everything clean and there are lots of activities. If your site is near the road, be aware that it is quite noisy! We haven’t used the pool, but my nephews enjoyed the playground. The camp store and laundry are nice and clean. There is a fishing pond across the road, a pool table, ping pong, gaga ball court, and even outdoor exercise equipment!

The Green Knoll Farm is located just down the road from the campground. We are surrounded by farms and farmland. Acres and acres of green beans and corn! It’s beautiful!

Our stay here has been comfortable and quiet! There are lots of things to explore in and around Grove City, PA! I will give more details on our adventures in the next few posts! The purpose of our trip is to visit family but I have been really surprised at how much fun we have had exploring here!
