What kind of fruit are you producing?
One of my strawberry plants has 38 strawberries on it! I’ve never seen this before and it has me thinking…
Sometimes we try to produce “much fruit” instead of “quality fruit”.
I am so guilty of this! I want to do everything. Seriously. Not because I want accolades but because I genuinely care for people and want to help. The problem with this is that the fruit of too many little things just stay small. The strawberry plant with 38 strawberries may have more fruit than the others, but the one with one or two strawberries has bigger, more delicious fruit. Those little berries on the plant with 38 strawberries will turn red but they won’t be juicy and sweet. The plant doesn’t produce enough nutrients to supply 38 big, juicy strawberries. So over commitment can hurt our fruit. Sometimes a smaller harvest is a better harvest.
Little is much when God is in it!
- John 15:4 (NIV)Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
- John 15:16 (NIV)You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
- 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
